We are delighted to say that your support has enabled this season of peer-to-peer workshops to take place across Moldova. We want to introduce you to these vitally important sessions.
They had a purpose to provide information about women’s and men’s rights, change attitude towards gender role and increase sympathy among boys and girls. The objectives of the workshop were:
Each young participant wrote about the human rights they are aware of and that should be respected by anyone in their society. The workshop included group and individual activities on “gender” and “sex” notions and why stereotypes exists and how we can destroy them.
During the workshop participants discussed about women and men in the media. The most important conclusion that the young people themselves came to was that we all have the same rights whatever our gender. This may sound obvious and straightforward, but what you have done is to open the minds of young people who live in an environment where such values are given little if any airing, and indeed would even be prejudiced against.
We look forward to sharing with you more specifics on these workshops in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, do please share this important project with friends and colleagues – much funding is still required to ensure momentum on peer-to-peer learning is maiantained.
