Dear Supporter,
Thanks to your support we are helping to open the minds of young people in Moldova.
Peer to Peer programme is so effective because it helps young people to learn about key problems they are facing but also it gives them a chance to discuss and communicate problems they are experiencing.
There are still stereotypes on these issues so having a way of expressing their concerns with other young people close to their age is so important that’s why the Y Peer programme is so successful.
It is wonderful to see young people empowering each other.
Y-PEER works with and for young people between the ages of 13 and 24 to advance and educate them on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). Annually the network educates more than 10,000 young people in need, being active in over 25 schools, with 16 teams of peer educators across the country and over 300 actively involved peer to peer educators. This community education has helped the youth to defend against HIV, STIs, unwanted pregnancy and domestic violence.
The saying goes that if you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. In other words it is better to give people the tools to help themselves, than to make them dependent on short-term external help.
Thank you so much for supporting this amazing programme.
