I-SEEED Youths, the team and beneficiaries are indeed grateful to the GlobalGiving Team, our phenomenal local and global donors who have provided us with the funds and the opportunity to continue impacting lives.
We have been creating a great impact in the lives of the children and families we serve. We have served an additional 107 youths since our last report was submitted. The Reading, Math, and Spelling Bee Competitions have been doing very well and the children have been recognized for their tremendous success thus far. Thirteen (13) students have received scholarships which will see them matriculate into higher education at public schools which is amazing. We also have started our Chess intervention which has seen the children developing critical thinking which is being emphasized by the government of our country.
We have concluded the installation of three (3) additional greenhouses that we reported on in our past report. These greenhouses will continue to help us on our quest for the eradication of poverty and empowerment of youths who are at-risk and have been affected by gender-based violence and the sustainability of our reserves and environment. These additional greenhouses will also see us catering to the survivors of gender-based violence by becoming gainfully employed, which will help them to sustain themselves and prevent them from living in abusive relationships that eventually harm the children. In the greenhouses, we have also started the sales of seedlings, which will see us capitalizing on a market to provide additional funds for our solutions. We have done one (1) Fundraising event since the beginning of the New Year to raise more funds to get the building done and provide more equipment and materials for our children. In addition to the $113, 300 JMD raised from an event to purchase more materials for further work to be done, we have also raised USD 2000
However, we are seeking more contributions in our continued efforts to finalize the center and create a lasting change for these children. Any assistance that can be afforded at this time will be greatly appreciated. We have continued to receive more children who have disabilities, as such, we are seeking more support because it is much more challenging to care for them and we cannot turn them away. The team at I-SEEED Youths also received four (4) Interns from Yale and Oxford who came to Jamaica and assisted us with several successful initiatives, for which we are indeed grateful.
Thank you so much again team and we are looking forward to sharing with you our success stories and the impact you have been creating through your hard-earned donations. On behalf of the entire team at I-SEEED Youths and our beneficiaries, we are appreciative of all the donations and thank you for choosing us.
