Since our last update, I-SEEED Youths has been blessed with new opportunities that continue to expand our impact across Jamaica and beyond.
New Funding for Gender Mainstreaming & Sustainability
We are proud to share that the National Conservation Trust Fund of Jamaica (NCTFJ) has partnered with us to strengthen our gender mainstreaming work. This support allows us to further integrate women and girls into climate-smart agriculture, green job creation, and environmental leadership—ensuring that the voices of women are not just heard, but lead the way in building resilient communities.
International Exposure – Cape Town Bound
In September 2025, I-SEEED Youths will travel to Cape Town, South Africa for two weeks of workshops and knowledge exchange. This remarkable opportunity places our Jamaican-led work on a global stage, showcasing how local solutions can inspire international change. It also deepens our learning, so we can bring back innovative approaches to strengthen our programs at home.
Expanding Our Team – UNDP Interns from Morocco & Canada
We are thrilled to welcome two dynamic interns through UNDP, one from Morocco and the other from Canada. These young leaders bring diverse perspectives and technical skills that are already enriching our operations. Their contributions help us refine our agro-tourism plans, scale youth training initiatives, and document best practices for replication across the island.
Marlin Avenue Basic School – Blooming with Promise
Our adoption of Marlin Avenue Basic School continues to flourish. The school garden has grown into both a classroom and a playground for discovery, where children proudly nurture the seeds they plant. Our Fruits Day Initiative is now a staple at the school, sparking joy as students explore healthy eating habits and carry these lessons back to their families. Parents are reporting real change at home, with children asking to plant gardens and eat more fruits—proof that small seeds grow into big cultural shifts.
Environmental Clubs – Planting Stewardship in Schools
We have expanded our environmental clubs into more schools, engaging students in climate action and eco-leadership. From tree-planting to waste reduction projects, youth are not only learning but leading. They are becoming ambassadors for sustainability in their classrooms, communities, and homes.
Looking Ahead
With every new partnership, every young person trained, and every child fed, our vision of a stronger, greener, and more resilient Jamaica comes closer to reality. These strides would not be possible without the unwavering support from GlobalGiving and our incredible donors. Your continued support helps us reach further, grow stronger, and transform more lives. Together, let’s keep the momentum alive.
