lndian Association for the Blind (lAB),based in Madurai, South India, is a well-known non-profit
organization working at the grassroots level for the education, employment and rehabilitation of people with visual challenges. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people to provide comprehensive education, employment and rehabilitation opportunities for socio-economically disempowered visually challenged children and adults with a special focus on those living in rural areas.
For this project, we received donations from 50 donors. We are truly grateful to each and every one of them for their timely support. Thanks to them, we have received a total of $ 6578.75 towards providing educational services to the visually impaired.
Approximately, about 50-55 children have been benefited through this project. Using the donations we received, we were able to move closer to our goal of providing high quality education, providing special training for those who require, providing study materials and assistive devices such as net books, laptops and angel players.
