Dear Friends,

Regarding our environmental education project, we welcomed 67 kids due to the pandemic Covid-19 restrictions in the last 3 months from 3 Schools which are Leoma Secondary School from Finale village, Seagotle Secondary school from Sofaya village and Nareng Secondary school from Metz village. We are done working with Leoma High school and we welcomed 47 of their students, and this means for the year so far we have welcomed 170 children.

Every week when we welcome the kids we select the student of the week due to the improvement we saw on the kids, we award them gifts that we receive from our volunteers. We also received some donations from volunteers for things like candies, stationery, cosmetics and clothes and we give them to the kids who are in need of them. We give the students of the week a spekboom tree to plant at home or school to help with the climate change. The last item we offer them is a game drive, whereby we wait until they make a group of 10 students. The game drive is very important and also a lifetime opportunity for the kids because most of them had never seen a wild animal close by, and with that game drive it's where they realised how important the animals are. Then we ask nearby game reserves to sponsor us with the game drive with the kids.

The volunteers are making a good impact on the kids through Environment Education and with the flashcards that we are having, they have lots of pictures and it's easy for them to understand, especially for those who struggle with English.

We planned to start working next year with Lepono school because it has been 2 years not working with it due to the high number of students we get from other schools. The schools that we want to work with this coming year 2022 are Lepono, Rakgolokwana, Maahlamele and, if we can, Leoma high schools.

We hope all is well on your side and thank you again for your trust and support.
