Project Report | Oct 8, 2024
More excited than ever to welcome 8 new students t

By Felicia Hansen | Project Manager

Last week we didn't have any students at DAKTARI. The reason behind that is that this week has been examination week in the original schools, which means that all kids and youths have been busy with this.

Even though we felt a bit lonely without our dear kids - we took this opportunity to evaluate our teaching program, and we found some room for renewal and improvement.

To mention a few adjustments: we have improved our lesson in animal tracking by going outside of our camp and studying the tracks our wildlife has left behind here in our game reserve - rather than studying pictures. We have also rearranged the daily schedule to enable the kids to spend more time with all our cute animals at camp.

And last, but not least, our great staff has made a huge effort to renovate our classroom. They have cleaned up, painted and re-painted and we have an order of new whiteboards that we await - that will be the cherry on the top in our great outdoor classroom!

THANK YOU for supporting our work at DAKTARI! Thanks to your donation we create a better future for the kids of South Africa!
