Meet Naheed, a 20-year-old second-year B.A. student whose journey is a powerful testament to determination and resilience.
Living with her parents and brother in a cramped 150 square-foot (14 sq. meters) rented room without basic amenities, Naheed’s family survives on her father's inconsistent income as an auto-rickshaw driver. Her mother, who sells clothes when she can, earns barely 1,000 (US$ 12.5) a month. With her brother unemployed and her sister unable to help financially, the family faces severe hardship every day.
Yet, Naheed never gave up on her dream of education. She was supported by AIDOS (Italian Association for Women in Development) until September 2024, she faced a major setback when the support suddenly ended.
But her perseverance paid off—in January 2025, the GlobalGiving funds stepped in, covering her monthly tuition fees and reviving her hopes.
Naheed’s journey shows that supporting one student can uplift an entire family. Her story is not just about surviving—it’s about rising.
Would you be the one to empower the next Naheed?
