Thank you to every person who has supported Women’s Global Education Project’s work on the GlobalGiving platform! We are incredibly grateful that in spite of the global pandemic, we have been able to not only sustain, but also expand our impact across rural Kenya.
We are starting a four-year process to build a state-of-the-art library and computer center in Tharaka-Nithi county, Kenya! This center will become the new headquarters of our Kenya operations, and will serve 10,000 women and girls each year with literacy training, computer classes, and community mobilization activities. The center will house 10,000 books and 25 computers, providing unprecedented access to resources in a remote, rural region where nothing like this exists.
Please make sure to subscribe to WGEP’s newsletter to get monthly updates on the center, and learn more about our work to empower women and girls across Kenya & Senegal.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
