According to UNESCO, one in ten girls in Sub-Saharan Africa misses school during their menstrual cycle. This could mean missing up to 20% of a school year!
At Women’s Global Education Project, we provide our 220 Kenya scholars with the resources they need to attend and succeed in school- that includes menstrual pads, undergarments, and health education pamphlets to ensure that they can focus on their studies, not on their periods!
Below are a few of our favorite photos from a recent supply distribution for our scholars.Thank you for supporting our work, and for believing in the power of girls’ education to transform communities and lift up economies.
