In August 2020, Women’s Global was awarded a 4-year cooperative agreement with USAID American Schools & Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) to build the Women’s Global Education Project Library & Computer Center in rural Tharaka-Nithi County, Kenya. This project has been a long-term dream of WGEP and We are excited to share that construction is set to be complete by May 20th!
The state-of-the-art library and computer center will provide the community with 10,000 books and 25 computers. These resources will allow students of all ages to improve their reading and digital literacy skills. The library will also become the headquarters of WGEP's Kenya operations, allowing us to expand our impact further and mend educational disparities in the region.
Thanks to the help of supporters like you, we can continue to contribute to scholarships, essential resources, and innovative support systems that empower girls to overcome challenges and meet their educational aspirations.
