Thank you for your continued support of Women's Global Education Project! Your support helps us provide scholarships and support to girls in rural Kenya who would otherwise not have the chance to go to school--girls like Selena and Mary, whose inspiring stories tell us that our work is making a difference--thank you for partnering with us!
Selena, WGEP Kenya scholar
Selena has been in our Kenya program for one year, she is in Form 4. The program paid her school fees, without which she could not afford to attend school. She wants to become a lawyer to help other women. She says that education will help her to become a presentable person from her country. "Without education I am nobody in the world," Selena says.
Mary, WGEP Kenya Graduate
Mary received a WGEP scholarship for four years, graduating in 2008. With the program’s help, she applied for and received a scholarship to Mt Kila University where she currently studies biology, zoology and parasitology. Her goal is to become a doctor. “Because of the program, I am empowered,” Mary says. “I have self-esteem.”
