Challenge

In Uganda, over 60% of children do not complete primary school, and girls are most affected. Only 27% reach upper secondary education. Many miss 2-5 school days monthly due to lack of sanitary products. Poverty, early pregnancy, and cultural norms force girls out of school, leading to early marriage and lifelong poverty.

Solution

The Girl Child Foundation Uganda provides school fees, uniforms, books, and sanitary pads to remove financial barriers. We also offer mentorship, life-skills training, and reproductive health education. Working with schools and families, we ensure girls remain enrolled, supported, and motivated to complete their education successfully.

Long-Term Impact

This project will support 100 girls for 12 months. Expected outcomes include improved attendance, reduced absenteeism by 70%, higher retention rates, and increased transition to secondary school. Long term, educated girls earn more, delay marriage, and uplift entire communities, breaking cycles of poverty.
