Transformation of life.
In a community lived a child who suffered from paralysis, could not talk, walk, read, write, swim ... his condition excluded him from the rest of his brothers and children in the community. There was marginalization on the part of his family towards him, his life was stormy.
Despite not being able to express himself with ease, this boy had some dreams; I wanted to go to a school, learn to read and write, speak better and walk. In addition, he wanted to learn to swim, because in front of his house passes a beautiful river, and always wanted to enter those crystal-clear waters. In 2009 the dream of this child begins, and is integrated into the special education program promoted and promoted by the Un Mundo organization, and is added to the enrollment of a school in the city, which works with a special population. There the teaching focused on working all the areas that this child needed to strengthen. He spent 4 years attending this school, when he was finally promoted to join a regular school in his community.
In 2014 he was given a leveling test to know if this child could be integrated to the third grade, and to the teacher's surprise, his grade was high, surprising. So, this child started a new challenge in his life, being in a school where he could interact with other children who did not have a disability.
Every day he walked 15 minutes from home to school, he did not see it as a sacrifice, on the contrary, it was an opportunity to strengthen the thick motor of his body. His humility and simplicity made him connect easily with the rest of the children in the school, and soon his leadership within the school increased. His academic excellence made the admiration of other children grow towards him, and the self-esteem and confidence increased in that dreamer child, to the degree that he felt capacity to be able to alphabetize his parents who were illiterate.
The organization One World had a special educator who worked closely with this child, and complemented perfectly with the teacher to achieve the proposed goals. Thus, he spent three years, until in 2017 he graduated from his primary education, being the first child with a well-marked disability, who managed to complete his entire school.
"Without the support of the Un Mundo organization and the special education program, my dreams would not have been fulfilled. Today I can walk, read, write, swim, and I feel happy. Now come other dreams that I will fulfill "(Testimony of child of history).
