This story tells of a boy who has grown up with his grandmother, and who was about to leave school and his dreams, because he could not learn to read and write, despite being 11 years old, and constantly repeat his grade.
Many people recommended to the grandmother, to enter her grandson to the Special Education program promoted by the organization Un Mundo. They told him about the achievements of other children with disabilities and gave him hope that the child would learn to read and write when he least expected it. After 3 years of uncertainty, he made the decision to enter the program.
Today this child is learning to read and write, and with this the motivation of him and his grandmother has increased, thanks to a process of teaching and learning, interactive and participatory learning, and through tools adapted to the child's cognitive condition.
Now and with a little bit of difficulty, the child can read news from the newspaper to his illiterate grandmother, medical prescriptions, letters he receives from his children, invitations to school meetings...
These testimonies of life are a reality thanks to the support of many people who with their valuable contribution help us to fulfill the dreams of the most invisible.
