June 2012 Girls Ed Educate Liberian Girls Report

By Loni Riley | Member, Board of Directors

Dear Girls Ed Educate Liberian Girls Supporters,

We are pleased to announce a new and exciting partnership with Liberia Now, a local NGO that has been working for sustainable development in Liberia for the past several years.  Liberia Now will bring to the Girls Ed's project in Liberia a wealth of experience not only with the Liberian culture, but with the education system.

We have solicited applications for the number of scholarships we are able to fund and will be selecting 10 new girls to sponsor for the completion of their education.  We have decided to focus on those girls who are in secondary school and who have lost their original sponsorship for one reason or another and without our assistance would not be likely to complete their studies.  Each of these girls will have shown commitment, through the maintenance of a B average, as well as need, however, so we can better ensure that they will successfully complete their schooling and be able to contribute something back to their community.

We are very excited about our new partnership and look forward to sharing with you more on the 10 girls we will sponsor through your donations to complete their secondary education.  On behalf of the Board of Girls Ed and the Liberian girls, thank you for your support!

Warm Regards,

Loni Riley, Board Member
