Across Africa and Latin America, GRACE Cares continues to support grassroots leaders who are creating meaningful change in their communities. From child protection and education to public health and sustainable livelihoods, our partners are demonstrating what local leadership can accomplish when organizations have access to resources, training, and opportunities to grow.

We are excited to share several recent achievements from our partner organizations.

In Zambia, YOCUPA has made significant progress in child protection and youth leadership. This year, the organization trained more than 250 students at Bauleni Special Needs Projects School on sexual and reproductive health, children's rights, and abuse prevention. YOCUPA also trained 25 members of Brave Movement Zambia in its 7ASIDE Anti-Sexual Harassment Action Groups model and Emotional CPR. Additional milestones include officially launching the 24/7 Child Hotline Zambia, conducting six Theatre for Community Action performances, and expanding its youth leadership programming to Mufulira District.

In Kenya, Watha is demonstrating how community-led initiatives can strengthen livelihoods. In September, the team harvested approximately 14 liters of honey from seven beehives and successfully sold the entire harvest to a local tourist lodge. Watha has also continued delivering water, sanitation, and hygiene education in partnership with Bombi Dispensary and the County Government of Kilifi.

In Guatemala, GuateBuena is expanding its environmental education initiatives through an experimental ecological area featuring gardens, recycled materials, and reforestation. The organization is also planning a larger climate resilience program for 2027 to help families conserve water, restore soil, and improve food security.

Meanwhile, MYEP in Zambia continues building on its Books on Wheels literacy initiative, which reached 1,680 pupils through 42 reading sessions in 2025. Project Hearts in the Dominican Republic has launched another community health leadership course, with its latest cohort growing to 11 women representing five communities.

These accomplishments reflect the importance of investing in local organizations and the people leading them. Their knowledge, commitment, and relationships within their communities make sustainable development possible.

Thank you to our donors for supporting GRACE Cares and the local leaders behind these initiatives. Your generosity helps strengthen grassroots organizations, expand their capabilities, and create opportunities for lasting community impact. We look forward to sharing more progress as our partners continue their work.
