Encouraging Leadership Among Young Learners
Education not only develops academic skills but also nurtures future leaders. During this reporting period, our project encouraged leadership development among orphaned children through mentorship and school engagement activities.
Beneficiaries participated in leadership discussions, group projects, and school clubs designed to strengthen communication and teamwork skills. These activities encouraged children to take responsibility and develop confidence in their abilities.
Teachers observed increased initiative among supported learners. Several students assumed leadership roles within their schools and became positive role models for their peers.
Educational assistance ensured that beneficiaries remained focused on learning and fully participated in school activities. Access to uniforms, learning materials, and school fees contributed to a stronger sense of belonging and self-worth.
Many children expressed aspirations of becoming community leaders, teachers, healthcare workers, and entrepreneurs. Their ambitions demonstrate the lasting impact of educational support and mentorship.

Promoting Reading Culture in Rural Communities
A strong reading culture is essential for academic success and lifelong learning. This quarter, our project focused on encouraging reading among orphaned children attending schools in rural Uganda.
Thanks to donor support, storybooks, textbooks, and supplementary reading materials were distributed to schools serving vulnerable learners. Children were encouraged to spend time reading both during and after school hours.
Reading activities and literacy clubs were introduced to create enjoyable learning experiences. Students participated enthusiastically, sharing stories, discussing books, and practicing reading aloud with their peers. Teachers observed improvements in reading comprehension and communication skills among participants.
Beneficiaries reported that access to books increased their interest in learning and expanded their understanding of the world beyond their communities. Many children developed new ambitions and career aspirations after reading inspirational stories.
Guardians noted that children were spending more time reading at home and demonstrating stronger academic commitment. These positive changes highlight the long-term value of promoting literacy among vulnerable learners.

Supporting Children During Examination Periods
Examination periods can be particularly stressful for orphaned children who often face financial and emotional challenges. During this reporting period, our project focused on providing support that would help learners prepare effectively for their exams.
With funding from GlobalGiving donors, educational materials and school fees were provided to beneficiaries before examinations began. Students received the resources needed to study, complete assignments, and attend revision classes.
Teachers worked closely with beneficiaries to identify learning gaps and provide additional academic support. Many students participated in study groups and extra revision sessions organized by schools. These activities improved understanding of key subjects and boosted confidence ahead of examinations.
The results were encouraging. Several supported learners achieved higher scores than previous terms, while many others demonstrated substantial improvement across multiple subjects. Teachers attributed this progress to consistent attendance and access to educational resources.
Parents and guardians expressed appreciation for the support, noting that it reduced stress during a critical academic period. Beneficiaries also reported feeling more prepared and optimistic about their performance.
Education continues to transform lives by creating opportunities for success. We thank our donors for helping orphaned children achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their abilities.
