Often the children who come to the center have loving families who are just unable to provide the care and good education that they want for their children. These Tibetan families fled their homeland and now live as refugees outside the country.  The Bon center is there for them and gives children a well- rounded education which prepares them well for adult life as they are provided with academic, philosophical, life skills and spiritual instruction.

One student wrote about his experience at the Bon Center. “It was a cold winter night when I first arrived at the center with my father. I could not feed myself or walk properly. What could my poor father do for his children in a remote village.   Joining the center was the turning point in my life.I was the smallest boy and I received lots of love and made friends and had a lot of fun. We studied together, played together and sometimes we argued but today all of them are in my heart and they made my time at the center a memorable one.  I had a modern education and learned about ancient Bon culture, history, religion and about Tibetan scholars. After grade 12 I went on to study Tibetan Bon philosophy at the Bon Dialectic School where I am now.”
