Dear Friends,
The Bon Children Welfare Center staff work hard to create an environment which encourages self- motivation in the Tibetan and Nepalese youth they care for.
As the secretary of the Bon Center said, “We want to see all the children happy and above all we want them to learn through a process of self- awakening. We believe that self- awakening will mean you make right decisions as you face challenges in the future. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses helps you choose the right path in life. We tell every child here that we are all unique and we are neither better nor less than anybody else but rather the best or least of ourselves.”
The care the children receive is holistic being not just academic school work, but sport, spirituality and psychological support and cultural. There are many after school activities and opportunities for inter house competition as well as chances to represent the school at competitions. Recently, Bon students won prizes in a regional competition in Tibetan poetry, poetry recitation, debate, science, and music. Through this sort of experience the youth learn self- motivation, self- confidence and to express their opinions.
Thank you for your support for Tibetan Bon youth.
