Dear Friends,
The Bon center has 188 orphans in its care, 133 boys and 55 girls in separate facilities. The scholarship students are working hard at their studies in the government run school which also educates students who are not orphans but are of Tibetan heritage. Seven of the boys took their 12th grade exam this month. The school year will be ending soon for summer.
The Bon Center raises the children in its care following a holistic philosophy, providing education, extra- curricular activities as well as spiritual and emotional support and guidance. One orphan had this to say, “I have learned to try to be contented and satisfied in life to be happy all the way through. Contentment is the secret to happiness. We have been given enough for our needs not for our greed.”
Thank you for your continuing interest in the Bon people.
