One of the questions we often get asked is what do our kids do each day. We are very happy to share that for Hands, providing a wide variety of educational opportunies is paramount to the success of raising our kids.
Some of our homes are quite varied in teaching languages. Children learn Thai and English at school but supplementary, after-hours programs in languages like Japanese, also provide them with something a little different.
We have some very "crafty" kids at our Kanchanaburi home, who are whizzes at painting, beading and model making - loving nothing more than to spend time in their "art therapy" classes which double as a form of healing for children who have suffered major struggles in their short lives.
Vocational training also assists with children regularly tending baking school or hairdressing skills classes to inspire those who may want to pursue a career in those fields.
