Celebrating 15 Years of Impact - Happy Birthday Develop Africa - Thanks to You!

15 years ago - in 2006, Develop Africa was started and registered as a 501c3 nonprofit organization.

Earlier this month we shared a video session on social media - summarizing our impact.

We wanted to share this summary with you as you have played a role in this impact. Thank you so much for your support.

Here are some 15-year highlights included in the full video.

Donors - Over 8000 people/organizations have donated - in-kind and financially
Volunteers hundreds - tens of thousands of volunteer hours

We started with a naive goal to help send a few kids to school - provide scholarships. We quickly realized that holistic development requires a more complete intervention. We broadened our intervention to include

School supplies, solar lights, and laptops
Scholarships
Mosquito nets (to keep children safe from malaria)
Computer/vocational training etc.
Microfinance loans (to enable self-sufficiency)
Orphan care
Epidemic and disaster relief
Mentoring
Non-perishable food supplies

Impact Summary

Barrels of books, teaching, and school supplies to the following countries - Cameroon, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Niger, Sierra Leone, Tanzania
Touching lives of over 110,000 children
Tuition assistance/scholarships - 1639 children and youths
Computer training - 1755 children and youths at 2 computer labs
