Saving Lives with Mosquito Nets

By Amy M Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator

Thanks to your generous support, future leaders are receiving not only school supplies and school support but are also receiving life-saving bed nets. In 2021, 190 mosquito nets were distributed to families in Sierra Leone.   These families and individuals were all very grateful to receive a mosquito net; some of those distributions were highlighted in this video.

Mosquito nets create an effective barrier and provide protection from mosquito bites for two years hence preventing Malaria and reducing the burden of Malaria in Sierra Leone.

"Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease that continues to have a devastating impact on the health and livelihood of people around the world. In 2020, more than two-thirds of deaths were among children under the age of 5 living in the WHO African Region."-https://www.who.int/campaigns/world-malaria-day/2022

We greatly appreciate your ongoing support for the future leaders in Sierra Leone. Mosquito nets will continue to be distributed to families in Sierra Leone in 2022 as a necessary item for students to sleep safely at night so that they are healthy and ready to go to school.

Our recurring donors are truly making a lasting difference for these future leaders in Sierra Leone. If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we warmly welcome your ongoing support
