Leadership and Smart Thinking

By Amy M Baty-Herbert | Project Coordinator

Twelve boys attended the most recent boys’ mentoring session which was on Leadership and Smart Thinking. Transportation, food, and drinks were provided to the attendees.

The guest speaker educated the boys on how to be successful leaders in their community, school, and various fields in life with the use of smart thinking. He gave a definition of a leader and, mentioned past and present prominent leaders that had made it far with the use of smart thinking.

He explained that Smart thinking has to do with the stretching of the brain by thinking strategically, which involves reasoning, logic, and being rational which will result in positive outcomes in decision making. He further talked about the fact that anyone can be a leader even without having an official leadership title, mentioning the qualities of a leader. The boys contributed with questions and what they thought smart thinking and leadership meant.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated as it will enable more boys' mentoring sessions and the educational resources they need to become the future leaders of Sierra Leone. If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we warmly welcome your ongoing support
