This year's theme for the International Day of Education (January 24th) is “to invest in people, prioritize education”. Education is a human right, a public good, and a public responsibility.- https://www.unesco.org/en/days/education
Providing quality education to the future leaders in Sierra Leone is helping them to rise above poverty, become independent and better decision-makers. Education is a proven way to alleviate poverty and bring lasting change.
When David, pictured above, and his younger brother, Darlington, pictured below, were younger, their parents passed away and they now live with their grandfather. Your support has helped David continue his education and for Darlington to start his education.
David is now in class six and his favorite subject at school is social studies. He enjoys playing and watching soccer in his spare time and dreams of becoming a doctor. Darlington is now in nursery 3 and his favorite subject is art. He hopes to be an engineer when he grows up.
With continued education and support, we are confident that David & Darlington will be able to achieve becoming a doctor and an engineer.
Today, on the International Day of Education, as we pledge anew to prioritize education, let us join together to provide more students in Sierra Leone with an education.
