Having a Desk at Home Makes a Difference for Jonathan & Joshua

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Joshua & Jonathan with their new desks
Joshua & Jonathan with their new desks

Doing homework and studying outside of the classroom is common for school students. Having a quiet, comfortable place to do your homework and study improves a student's ability to focus and retain information. Thanks in part to your support brothers, Jonathan & Joshua, both recently received a desk with a chair.  They are both very thankful for the desks and sent this video of thanks-

Jonathan: Hello, my name is Jonathan

Joshua: Hello, my name is Joshua. Thank you for giving us sturdy tables and chairs.

Both: Thank you very much!

Jonathan attends the local primary school and is in class 1. His favorite subject is English and likes to play football when he’s not busy with schoolwork. He dreams of becoming an agriculturist when he grows up so he can help solve the food problem in his country.  Joshua is in class 3.  and his favorite subject is mathematics. He dreams of becoming a builder in the future so he can solve the housing challenge in his country.

Our recurring donors are truly making a lasting difference for future leaders in Sierra Leone, like Jonathan and Joshua. If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we warmly welcome your ongoing support to continue to provide children with the educational resources they need to be the future leaders of Sierra Leone.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

Warm regards,
Amy and the Develop Africa team
