Tomorrow's #GivingTuesday- Time to #MoveaMillion

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Thanks in part to your generous support, 30 drums filled with essential school supplies are ready to ship to Sierra Leone. These supplies will have a meaningful impact on the education of countless students in Freetown, Kamawornie, Bo, and Makeni, spanning from elementary to high school levels.

The contents of these drums encompass a wide array of much-needed items, including pencils, pens, paper, notebooks, book bags, rulers, erasers, pencil sharpeners, crayons, glue, and more. Additionally, the shipment includes calculators, solar lights, and electronic devices such as Kindles, e-readers, and iPads. Teachers are also provided with essential tools such as chalk, teaching materials, and books to enhance their classroom environments.

Tomorrow is #GivingTuesday and GlobalGiving is contributing $1.2 million USD in bonus funding. We extend an invitation for you to join us in ensuring that these 30 drums reach students in Sierra Leone. The process involves collecting donated school supplies from around the world, packing them into drums, shipping them to Sierra Leone, and ultimately distributing them to students in need. Witness the joy these supplies bring to the children in this heartwarming video.

Your ongoing support is pivotal in sustaining our mission to nurture the future leaders of Sierra Leone. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the educational journey of these students and contribute to the development of a brighter future for Sierra Leone.

If you haven't had the chance to sign up for a recurring donation yet, we warmly welcome your ongoing support for the future leaders of Sierra Leone. Did you know that GlobalGiving will match new recurring donations up to $200 USD at 100%?*

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

Warm regards,
Amy and the Develop Africa team

*Donations up to $200 USD per unique donor per project from donors setting up a new monthly donation will be matched one-time at 100% after four total payments.
