Project Report | May 3, 2024
Shaka Shines at New Kamawornie Nursery School

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Shaka, a student brimming with curiosity at the recently opened Kamawornie Nursery School (February 2024), confidently recites the months of the year and spells out numbers in this video. These early achievements highlight the profound significance of early childhood education made possible in part by the unwavering support of donors like you.

Early childhood education is more than just preparation for primary school; it's the bedrock for lifelong learning. During these formative years, young minds like Shaka's are at their most receptive, absorbing information and developing critical cognitive skills at an astonishing rate. At the Kamawornie Nursery School, playful activities and interactive lessons introduce them to foundational concepts like months and numbers, equipping them with the tools they need to excel in future academic settings.

Early childhood education also serves as a springboard for social and emotional development. Through interactions with peers and teachers, Shaka and his classmates learn valuable social skills like collaboration, communication, and problem-solving. Girls and boys with a strong educational foundation are more likely to pursue higher education, secure better jobs, and contribute meaningfully to society.

Shaka's story is a testament to the transformative power of early childhood education and a shining example of the lives you are helping impact. We are deeply grateful for your continued support in nurturing young minds like Shaka's and building a brighter future.
