On World Malaria Day, observed annually on April 25th, Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) held a malaria prevention workshop to engage and empower youth in Sierra Leone. The initiative aimed to leverage education, collaboration, and creativity to instill proactive measures against malaria among the youth. There were twenty-one beneficiaries in attendance along with their parents and staff members.
The Risk and Communication Officer from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation conducted a comprehensive presentation covering malaria prevention, causes, treatment, environmental hygiene practices, and the proper use of bed nets.
The event covered malaria prevention, treatment, and the correct utilization of bed nets within households. It encompassed educational sessions on understanding malaria, practical training on prevention and control methods, and discussions on empowering young individuals to actively raise awareness and implement preventive measures in their communities.
