Back-to-School Support for Freetown Students

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Freetown Students with their School Supplies
Freetown Students with their School Supplies

As the new school year approaches, the Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) team has been hard at work in Freetown distributing 73 backpacks filled with essential school supplies, including pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, water bottles, crayons, sharpeners, markers, and exercise books. In addition to these supplies, financial assistance was provided to help cover tuition fees. This support reached 29 students in grades nursery through class 6, and 44 students from junior secondary to senior secondary school.

The process of gathering, shipping, and distributing these school supplies to Sierra Leone would not be possible without the generosity of donors like you. Your contributions make a tangible difference in the lives of these young students, helping them start the school year with the tools they need to succeed.

Educational support is crucial for underprivileged students, as it provides access to learning opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.  You have helped make a significant impact on students' lives, giving them the chance to achieve their dreams through education.

Families expressed their gratitude to Develop Africa Sierra Leone and donors like you, for the educational support provided to the students.  The students express their gratitude in this video

On behalf of all the beneficiaries in Freetown, I want to say a very big thank you to Develop Africa and all donors for supporting us with these school materials.  Thank you, we love you all. Thank you, we love you!

We deeply appreciate your continued support!  If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to email us at GlobalGiving@developafrica.org.

Warm regards,

Amy and the Develop Africa Team
