Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) recently conducted an analysis of the academic performance of students in Freetown who benefit from the DASL educational support programs. The study focused on two pivotal subjects—English Language and Mathematics—which are critical for university admission in Sierra Leone. These subjects are required in all public exams but often pose significant challenges for students aspiring to higher education.
The results revealed that 60% of supported students in Freetown are excelling academically, while 40% are performing at an average level. This underscores the transformative impact of our programs and highlights areas for further growth.
By addressing key challenges such as resource limitations and regional disparities, DASL is committed to improving educational outcomes and empowering students to achieve their full potential. Through targeted interventions and holistic support, we are fostering academic excellence and breaking the cycle of poverty for countless families and communities.
We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership and support, which makes this vital work possible. Together, we can unlock brighter futures for the children of Sierra Leone, helping them to reach new heights and create lasting change within their communities.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
