Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) did an analysis of the academic performance of Bo students who receive educational support through Develop Africa. The focus was on English Language and Mathematics, two critical subjects that determine university acceptance in Sierra Leone. These subjects are required for all public exams, yet they remain a significant barrier for many students seeking higher education.
The analysis showed that in Bo, 60% of students achieved average grades, while 40% excelled.
The academic performance analysis suggests providing additional support and resources to include extra tutoring sessions, mentorship programs, or access to educational materials that cater to different learning styles.
By addressing key challenges such as resource limitations and regional disparities, DASL is committed to improving educational outcomes and empowering students to achieve their full potential.
We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership and support, which makes this vital work possible. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
With great appreciation,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
