Presently, the Develop Africa Sierra Leone (DASL) Computer Lab has fifty-three students enrolled in computer classes. The classes operate across three shifts—one in the morning and two in the afternoon—spanning from Monday to Friday.
Over the past month, students have been actively engaged in learning Microsoft Office Suite, gaining skills that will enhance their academic and professional futures. Here's an overview of their progress:
Microsoft Word – Understanding word processing and document creation.
Microsoft Excel – Learning payroll calculations, financial functions, charts, and formulas.
Microsoft PowerPoint – Developing presentation skills and exploring graphic design basics.
Microsoft Access – Managing databases and understanding data organization.
Microsoft Publisher – Designing professional documents and publications.
Through these courses, students are gaining practical skills that prepare them for careers in an increasingly digital world.
Enrollment is still ongoing, as some students are set to complete their courses by early March. We recently conducted exams and course evaluations, ensuring that each student is gaining valuable knowledge before moving to the next level.
Thanks to your generous contributions, more young individuals in Sierra Leone are receiving the computer skills they need to succeed. Your support is transforming lives, opening doors to new opportunities, and empowering the next generation of leaders.
If you haven’t already, we invite you to set up a recurring donation to help us continue this life-changing program. Every gift, big or small, brings us closer to equipping more students with the digital skills they need for the future!
Thank you for making a lasting impact!
With appreciation,
Amy & The Develop Africa Team
