Sierra Leone faces significant challenges in delivering practical STEM education due to limited resources, particularly in science labs. But thanks in part to your generous support, we are taking bold steps to change this reality!

To equip teachers with hands-on STEM training, Develop Africa, in partnership with DEXT Technology Limited, organized a five-day intensive workshop at DEXT headquarters in Kumasi, Ghana. This initiative provided Sierra Leonean STEM teachers with the skills needed to bring engaging, practical science education into classrooms.

During the workshop, participants gained firsthand experience with DEXT Science Kits, allowing them to:
*Explore hands-on science experiments-(e.g., building a digestive system model, water filtration, and electrical circuits).
*Dive into robotics and coding-(e.g., programming Arduino microchips, motion sensors, and robotic movements).
*Strengthen STEM collaboration between Sierra Leone and DEXT Technology for long-term impact.

Because of this training, over 20 teachers have been trained to integrate DEXT Science Kits into their lessons.  Schools in Sierra Leone are now piloting DEXT Science Kits, bringing interactive learning to students. STEM education is becoming more engaging, practical, and accessible for young learners, especially girls.

Your support helped make this transformational workshop possible. You are empowering students to dream big, learn freely, and pursue careers in science and technology.

Thank you for believing in the power of education and helping shape the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone!

With deepest appreciation,
Amy & The Develop Africa Team
