Thanks to your generous support, students like Abubakkir in Sierra Leone are pursuing their dreams and building brighter futures.
Abubakkir is a hardworking junior secondary school (JSS) student from Kamawornie village in northern Sierra Leone. He’s passionate about learning—especially Physical Health Education and English—and when he’s not studying or helping around the house, he loves playing football with friends. But what drives him most is his dream of becoming a medical doctor so he can help heal the sick in his community.
Abubakkir lives with his parents and siblings, who are dedicated farmers growing rice, groundnuts, and beans each planting season. Like many children in his village, Abubakkir supports his family by helping on the farm after school and during holidays.
Your support is making a real impact. You're not just helping with school supplies or tuition—you’re opening doors for children like Abubakkir to rise above obstacles, reach their potential, and uplift their communities.
Education changes everything. It’s the most powerful tool we have to break the cycle of poverty and create long-term change.
If you haven’t already, consider becoming a recurring donor. Your monthly gift provides consistent, reliable support to students throughout the year and ensures that hope, learning, and opportunity continue to grow.
Together, we’re shaping the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone—one student at a time.
With heartfelt thanks,
Amy and the Develop Africa Team
