A New School Year, New Dreams, and Growing Impact

By Amy Baty-Herbert | Project Leader

Alvin with his new school supplies

The new school year has just begun in Sierra Leone, and thanks to your generosity, students like Alvin are stepping into their classrooms with hope, confidence, and determination.

Alvin, a bright and curious Class Six student, has big dreams of becoming a medical doctor. He loves science, enjoys playing football, and despite the challenges his family faces, Alvin is motivated to study hard and pursue his goals.

Your generosity is doing more than providing school supplies and tuition—it’s opening doors to education, nurturing dreams, and equipping children to rise above obstacles and build brighter futures.

Education changes everything. It breaks the cycle of poverty, uplifts entire communities, and prepares the next generation of leaders in Sierra Leone.

If you haven’t already, we invite you to become a recurring donor. Your monthly gift ensures consistent support for students like Alvin throughout the school year and beyond, sustaining the hope and opportunities they deserve.

Together, we’re shaping the future—one student at a time.

With heartfelt thanks,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
