The excitement is building in Sierra Leone as we prepare for The Year of the Pencil distribution on November 20th — World Children’s Day!
Thanks to your support, Develop Africa Sierra Leone is almost ready to place 100,000 pencils into the hands of 10,000 eager students across 19 schools, including two all-girls schools. These pencils will equip children with the simple yet powerful tools they need to learn, dream, and succeed.
Here’s what a student volunteer shared about the experience:
“Every pencil we count represents hope and opportunity for another child to learn.” – Musa
Each pencil may seem small, but to a child in Sierra Leone, it represents hope, opportunity, and the power to shape their own future.
As we count down to distribution day, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who has helped make this project possible — including YOU. Your generosity is helping us turn everyday tools into extraordinary opportunities for learning.
Together, we’re writing a brighter future — one pencil at a time.
With heartfelt thanks,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
