We are thankful for your generosity, which helped us distribute the 100,000 pencils from our Year of the Pencil initiative to 10,000 students in 20 schools across Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Nov 20th.
From classrooms buzzing with excitement to teachers expressing renewed hope, this distribution has sparked joy and possibility across the city. These pencils are more than supplies—they are symbols of encouragement, dignity, and opportunity.
Sylvester R., the President of Develop Africa, is deeply grateful for your commitment. He shares his heartfelt appreciation in a special video message, thanking you for standing with children and helping them continue their learning journeys.

Today Is Giving Tuesday & your Impact Can Go Even Further. Donations up to $2,500 between now and Dec. 3 at noon EST help us earn a share of $500,000 in matching funds. Let's make this day unforgettable. Give now before Dec. 3 at 12 p.m. EST
Your generosity can open even more doors for children who are eager to learn and grow.
From all of us at Develop Africa, thank you for transforming communities—one pencil, one student, one school at a time.
With gratitude,
Amy & the Develop Africa Team
