Beth’s Girl and EBZEF scholarship recipient Kutemba Njolomba teaches at Green Ward International School in Luanda, Angola. “I teach grades 8 to 12. We have students from all over the world. Also, I teach the Cambridge syllabus so even young ones do biology. It starts from grade 4.” Kutemba graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in Natural Sciences from Mukuba University in 2018. A math and science teacher, she “gives back” as a role model for female students across the globe.
After missing a term/semester in 2020 due to Covid, Beth’s Girls are again actively engaged in their college studies. Scholarship recipients include Teachers, Early Childhood Educators, Nurses, a Pharmacist, 2 Medical Doctors, an Electrical Engineer, a Metal Fabricator, and a Public Administrator. A potential student for 2022 is interested in Sustainable Natural Resources Management and Climate Change. To date, 38 Beth’s Girls have received college/vocational school scholarships from EBZEF. We are so proud of these remarkable young women from a remote rural village in NW Zambia!
The third 3-classroom block is almost complete. New desks are on the way. The Headmaster’s house has just been completed and is ready for occupancy. And the materials for construction of the boys’ ablution block (lavatory) are on site. Drainage issues from the first two classroom blocks will also be repaired under the auspices of World Vision Zambia. The Pre-School is planning a food lunch program for undernourished children which will include a garden project for the children to grow their own food. EBZEF projects continue to thrive on the other side of the world, thanks to your continuing generosity!
