We are delighted to share that Educate a Girl has - thanks to you - now educated 830 deserving girls to become journalists. This week, alumni Sobia, Afiffa and Mehwish have started donated a small part of their paychecks to educate other girls. It will take them 3-6 months to donate a scholarship, and they are very excited to now be donors themselves, just like each of you!
We would like to wish Eid Mubarak to our Muslim donors and share with the rest that our scholarship girls in Pakistan celebrated this religious holiday this past weekend.
We would like to invite you all to #EAGClimate this Saturday, on October 3rd, 2015 in which our Educate a Girl Scholars who have graduated from Institute of Journalism as well our new scholars about to start their vocational training at Ziauddin Institute of Journalism - will be trained in Climate Journalism. UNDP is hosting the event and we are flying in one of Australia's top journalists - Sara Phillips of ABC Australia - to train our top girls. The morning time, she will train the girls in the basics of journalism of the highest standards and in the afternoon, she will train them in all climate issues - enegy, water and food security - and how to report on them. This is one of the additional booster courses we are holding for students whose vocational training has already been funded by donors such as yourselves.
Together, we can transform lives.
