In April, we were hosted by Marakele Animal Sanctuary for an educational experience learning about the lions and other predators they have. The children greatly enjoyed this interactive educational experience!
On Tuesday, May 18th, some of the older Thabang children were able to participate in “Charity Tuesday” at our local Eagle Mountain Spur, at which they were able to have the experience of “shadow shifts”. The children greatly enjoyed this experience as it was the first time they were able to have real work experience.
Our annual Debate Day took place on Saturday, June 7, at which nine of the Thabang children presented debates about the benefits and drawbacks of social media (junior group) and about Covid lockdown procedures (senior group). The boys and girls faced off in front of a panel of eight volunteer judges and the girls proved to be the champions of both debate topics this year! We are very proud of the children for putting in the hard work and grateful to the volunteers who spent weeks prepping both the writing of the debates and helping the children with their public speaking skills!
