The education component of Khel was affected due to COVID 19 and subsequent lockdowns. Online education was difficult due to the lack of tech equipment within the community. To cater to the needs of the children and to keep the children away from the streets and anti-social activities, Imkaan opened Khel doors to cater to 15 children at one time for one hour each. This allowed the Khel teachers to provide one on one attention to a smaller group of children.
Year-end exams were also held mid-march where children excelled in all subjects. A parent-teacher meeting was held to share the results and get parents feedback regarding the admission/entrance test of their children in the nearest government school and TCF campus.
Out of 170 children at Khel, 35 students will be applying for admissions in mainstream schools giving space for a new younger lot to be part of Khel.
