If you stop by Kijiji Mission on a typical afternoon, you’ll likely spot Annita W at one of the sewing machines, focused and calm, steadily guiding fabric beneath the needle.
For Ann, this isn’t just about sewing. It’s about rebuilding her future.
Growing up in Nakuru, Ann faced many of the same challenges that bring young women to Kijiji Mission: limited resources, disrupted schooling, and an uncertain path forward. Before joining us, opportunities were few and far between.
But here, things changed.
Through our 12-month residential training, Ann has learned tailoring, small business skills, computer literacy and how to mentor newer students. With each stitch, she’s building both skill and confidence.
“I never thought I could learn so much,” she says. “Now I feel stronger, more confident. I can support myself and help others do the same.”
Ann dreams of starting a tailoring business in her neighborhood—where she can earn a living and inspire other young women to follow their own paths.
