Mama Beyonce
Beyonce joined Roko 20 in December 2014 aged 3 years old. Beyonce thrived immediately in Roko 20’s environment and continues to do so.
Mama Beyonce works hard to improve her living conditions but with limited resources. We discussed with her how we could assist with a suitable project.
Mama Beyonce lives in a populated area close to an area of land where matatu (minibus) drivers bring their vehicles to be washed. She came up with the idea of setting up a stall selling chips (french fries) to the bus drivers.
In return for providing her with start-up materials, Mama Beyonce volunteered her time and worked at Roko 20 helping out in the kitchen and garden for 3 days.
Mama Beyonce’s young start-up business is already a success. She is bringing in enough income to survive and has already expanded the business and now sells coffee.
We will further assist her with a small loan to buy produce in bulk wholesale. This will enable her to sell small quantities of cooking oil in her stall. She is always thinking about ways in which to expand her business.
Because of your support women like Mama Beyonce now have hope and a future for herself and her daughter.
We are always looking for ways to improve the lives of our children by assisting their parents/guardians out of poverty with projects suited to them. This is yet another one of our success stories.
Thank you for helping us to improve the lives of our children and their families.
To help us keep supporting the families of our children please see our Global Giving page below.
