MARGARET DREAMS OF BECOMING A TEACHER
Many families in Kenya simply do not have the ability to ensure that their children receive a quality education.
Thanks to your support we are making a difference. The money that you have donated has helped us help young girls like Margaret receive the education that she would not otherwise receive. Margarets parents are both HIV positive. They have 4 school aged daughters that they are determined to see graduate from high school. To say "it's hasn't been easy for this family" is a rather ridiculas understatement. Mum and Dad support the family by working in the fields during the planting and harvesting seasons for approximately $2.00 a day. As well as paying for all of Margaret's boarding school fees and school supplies Springs of Hope Foundation is assisting the family by renting a 1/2 acre plot of vacant land where they will grow tomatoes and spinach which they will sell to the surrounding community. The success of this, their first years crop is dependant upon the current drought, which is in it's third year, finally breaking.
Our commitment to helping underprivileged children get a decent education is stronger than ever. A sound education will transform their lives and provide opportunities for growth, and contribution to national development.
Mark your calendar! GlobalGiving is having a GG Rewards Bonus Day on Wednesday, July 12th, beginning at 9 AM EST, that's 6 AM West Coast Time. All donations will be matched by a 50% bonus. The funds are limited, so donate as early as possible to ensure your gift is matched! Increase your impact so that more girls like Margaret can acquire important skills and the training they need to succeed!
Together let's make the education dreams of each of these girls come true! There is truly no better gift that you could give!
