Education & hope for 165 needy children in India

We take this opportunity in thanking each of our valuable contributors for their selfless support and investment in our venture. Its been an exhaustive 3 months for our children with the school activities and teaching happening in full swing. Even as they enjoy their schedule as they progress ahead we are proud to put across their achievements.

 In academics Thotsem and Monisha received a Special Prize from Guardians of Dreams for their excellent performance at the Boards. Its been almost 3 months since Chuimayo left for Engg. College to Mangalore. He is adjusting very well.

 Our  Sports Achievements highlights St. Michael`s children hauled 42 medals at their Annual Sports Day (22 Gold,12 Silver and 8 Bronze).Sneha won the Overall Individual Championship trophy in the Sub Sr. Category with an impressive haul of 4 Gold and 2 Silver medals .Thomba was declared the Chess Champion .Umesh qualified for the Nationals in the Triple Jump.Puneet broke his arm playing football, underwent a complicated surgery, but won the Football Trophy for his House. Sneha  won a Gold Medal, Sarla won a Silver medal and Silas won a Bronze Medal in their respective events at the School Sports Day held on 2nd Sept.

 On medical grounds Bhavana  had a successful ear surgery and follow up. Tanu is mobile on his wheelchair and is very thankful for it. Punnet who injured his arm in school had to undergo a surgery and is back to school. Anand is excited about his hearing aid and speech therapy sessions as he hears the world again.

At the New home it has been raining activities starting with teaching arts and crafts ,attending drawing class and tuitions. Various volunteers , well wishers , donors sponsored steel plates and glasses, lunch, pizza party etc

 New Home building is under progress in a very steady manner. However we are facing some financial difficulties to complete the kitchen and would appreciate your support in this regard. We hope to move our children to their home by December.

SANHA-  BEACON OF HOPE THROUGH DESPAIR

Red light area of  Kamatipura was  Sunita’s home for 10 years. She was living with Kannada devdasi community. Bleak is her memory of her hometown but  does remember she was used by men often at construction site and neighborhood which gained much money for her. She had 3 children with different men. She sold her first child for 500 Rs and the other two passed away due to health issues. Eventually she was into prostitution and was in good demand.

 At the Red light area her life was controlled by alcohol and drugs that she didn’t realize she was pregnant again. She was physically, sexually and verbally abused for not cooperating with the customers. It was through her colleague that she was connected to a staff at Oasis Organization. Eventually YCFU (you can free us NGO) intervened.

YCFU counseled her and encouraged her willingness to come out of the red light area. Sunita fared well without alcohol and was bought to safe house. When found she was mal- nutritioned, fearful , highly traumatized due to abuse , mentally challenged and unaware she was 8 months pregnant. She was cared and prayed for and with time regained her health.

On 18^th September Sunita delivered a healthy baby girl and named her SANHA. Unfortunately she showed no interest in the upbringing of her child. She even thought of selling her child for money. Sunita was diagnosed with TB a year later. She tried leaving the safe house few times but was bought back to safety. She is currently battling depression and mental instability and chances for her to lead a normal life is bleak.

SANHA has been adopted in NEW HOME in April 2016 and is cared for with the best available facilities.

Baby Sanha celebrated her 2nd birthday on 19th Sept in a grand manner. She is enjoying her new found life at our home and we are very happy and proud to have this little angle as part of our family.
