CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS…CELEBRATING LIFE!!
“We Celebrate not just Our Final Achievement, But the Journey Made Towards It”- Eleesha
Greetings from Reaching Hand!
Three months passed in a jiffy and we are eager to bring the updates and achievements of our children to the ones who have made it happen. Yes!! It became possible through each of our dignified donors and well wishers contribution and continuous support.
It has been a good three months of celebrations and achievements at the New Home. We had lots of corporate visits to our two homes to celebrate the season. The children were showered with lot of motivational talks, breakfast, lunches, dinners, gifts and season celebrations.
Health is wealth and that is the area we strongly focus and follow diligently. OurAnand continues his speech therapy sessions and is very thankful to his donors as he hears and understands the world. Tanu met with Audiologist for acquiring hearing aid and brace fitting.
Sports is in their genes, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that Pooja of R.K Gautam School won four medals and proudly all Gold medals. Monisha of Clarence School also won 4 medals in athletics
What is life without music! It is in the air and the heart for our New Home children and we have our Thotsem who is part of the Clarence School Musical Choir enjoying every bit of his participation. Every visit of the children to the school musical concert leaves them awe struck.
In the field of arts, three of our budding artists are developing their talents in pencil shading and glass painting. They look to progress with charcoal drawings, watercolors and canvas painting in the near future
Our children find all reason to celebrate and Christmas is another season when our children had tremendous opportunity. Schools being closed for the last two weeks of the year they volunteered to make handmade cards and wrap by sanitary kits to be distributed for a program undertaken by Reaching Hand.
ANAND: CELEBRATING HIS LIFE AND SMILE
Anand, a young boy who was found wandering in the streets of K.R Puram on a hot sunny day. He was hearing impaired child because of which he could not speak too. He was adopted by New Home less than a year ago. Since he had not heard the world, his reply to every conversation was a smile and used to convey his message through various actions. His world changed for the better after he was taken to an audiologist for a series of tests for it was learned that he could hear with the help of a special hearing aid.
Our joy knew no bounds with this revelation and there was no turning back. After numerous hospital visits and tests, Anand was able to get his right hearing aid. Currently, he is undergoing speech therapy. The sparkle in his eyes spoke volumes when he heard the world for the first time and tried to converse.
His actual date of birth is not known to us, but as per CWC records it is “ 26th January “. This date is definitely important to us as we celebrate our Independence day, but this year it was even more special for us as we celebrate Anand’s 8 years on this earth. We not only celebrate his birthday but also his smile as love and care is showered by his New Home family
We take this opputunity to thank each of you who has supported us with kind words, encouragement and donations and look forward to your continous support as we strive to bring about a change and smile in the lives of theses children.
