Dear One,

Greetings from Reaching Hand!

Moving Towards a Worthwhile Goal

She is quiet , determined and beautiful with a smile that can brighten your most challenging day ! When you ask her about her aspirations Kateni shyly responds, ‘A fashion designer with a touch of simplicity”.Kateni has been in New home for the past 11 years. You could easily miss her among the crowd because of her timid nature. Ever ready to help and assist the team and staffs when required, this serene beauty from the north east state of India holds a high place in the hearts of all.

It is no surprise to us that she has topped her school in grade 9 as academics come naturally to her. Despite her challenging past she stays grounded, focused and works very hard to achieve her goal. She utilizes her spare time by drawing, painting and designing costumes. Her family has been the New Home and she is excited to be part of this vibrant family that has helped her nurture her dreams.

Reaching Hands New Home team has got your back Keteni! Your hard work and determination will be rewarded, and we are excited to see what your future holds in store for you because “You are what you do, not what you say you’ll do”!

A quarter gone by: The past quarter has been an eventful one filled with fun, excitement, challenges and changes. End of an academic year is a sign of progress as we look forward to the start of another.

A summer vacation passed by with memories made for a life time. The New Home team made a one-week trip to Lonavala/ Mumbai in the last week of April where visiting Gateway of India, Taj Hotel, Hanging Garden, Nehru Planetarium, Cultural places were the highlights.

Summer camps, sports camps, wellness camps for child development, Value camp for the teens to get them to think deeper and rationally added to the activities in the summer.Prem a child of new home exclaims,“There is not a dull day at New Home”.

Academic results are announced, and all our children passed in flying colors. Our children Monisha and Thotsem have completed their 12th exams and have enrolled for higher education in hospitality management. Eight of our children completed grade 10 and Leshini and Sazhuni started their Grade 11 in St Charles PU college and the other six children from NIOS joined HMR international school for grade 11.

We are in the process of expanding our school building at the campus for the home schooled children to enhance the learning atmosphere. We look forward to your support for the same.

Times are hard, yet each of you continue to stand with us in supporting our 55 children at New Home with your time, donations , encouragement and love. We thank each of you from the bottom of our heart for your selfless support.

These achievements would not be possible without your contribution. We assure you that your investment in the life of each child is worth it. We would love you to visit our New Home when you are in Bangalore.
