Success story of an HIV boy
The boy master device (original name different) [8yr old living with HIV] was born to HIV positive parents in New Delhi. It is a mother to child transmission case so he turned out to be an HIV positive during birth. His mother got to know about herself during pregnancy. After the demise of his parents, he and his 2 siblings were staying at their relatives place for some time.
The boy needs special care in terms of nutritive food and medication on daily basis to cope up with the virus. Being stigmatized in society and relatives are reluctant to care the boy, DESIRE Society had accepted for their admission at our Gurgaon care home level.
The relatives lost hope of giving him a sustainable life pattern. They were not able to find any place for the survival because of his suffering from HIV. During his relative’s continuous search for the proper care home for HIV/AIDS children, they met our Program Facilitator and came to know about DESIRE Society.
They brought him and the siblings to the DESIRE Society as it is a care home for HIV/AIDS children. DESIRE Society has pledged to give him the basic core needs. The nutritional diet is the basis of our services to be given to him. Gradually he has gained weight after admission. The net result increases in the CD4 count, in turn, giving them chance to fight against odds of this dreadful disease. The health wise improvement shows the love and care provided to this boy at our Care Home level. His schooling is started at the Government school and now he got enrolled in class 2nd of a Private School. The overall development is targeted area for him. And DESIRE Society is committed to fulfilling the future of the boy.
Hope the continuity of GlobalGiving presence makes sure for their better living standards in future too.
